The Magic Is Real! Check out how You Can Spend the Night In Hagrid’s Hut, from Apartment Therapy
Not that we ever doubted it for a second, but magic does exist. Harry Potter fans know this to be true, but now we have proof to share with others! Fans of the series can actually spend a night in a replica of Hagrid’s Hut. How magical does that sound?
Hagrid is easily one of the most beloved characters in the entire series. He was there at the very beginning of Harry’s journey, taking him from the wreckage at Godric’s Hollow and delivering him to his aunt and uncles at Number 4 Privet Drive. When Harry one only the size of a bowtruckle. Hagrid was later tasked with the important duty of telling Harry that he was a wizard. No one could ever forget the famous line, “Yer a wizard, Harry.”
Over the course of seven books, Harry and his friends often went to Hagrid for comfort and if they had any burning questions. Hagrid was one of the only adults in Harry’s life that he could always trust and Hagrid never had any ulterior motives, nor did he ever hide things from Harry. Everyone loves Hagrid!
If you’re always on the prowl to book a Harry Potter-themed trip, then you’re in luck. You can head to Northern England to stay at Ground Keeper’s Cottage. While Hagrid himself won’t be there to greet you, staying here will make you feel immersed in Harry Potter culture. The cottage is actually located on six acres of countryside. We can only imagine the magical creatures Hagrid would bring back to care for at this hut.
While speaking with The Daily Mail, owner Carol Cavendish said:
“Books have always been an important part of my life even after being diagnosed with dyslexia, which meant I had to teach myself to read. They’ve also helped me through challenging times when I would turn to the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings books for pure escapism. That’s why it is so fantastic to create an environment where others can also leave behind everyday life and step into their favourite storybook.”
The cottage cost $250,000 to build, so certainly a little outside of Hagrid’s means. It can comfortably sleep up to six people. The cottage is decked out in wood furnishings and it even has a freestanding copper bathtub. It has a very camp-house vibe!
Bookings are only $195 a night, which is an absolute steal when you considered it costs more than that to stay at a hotel in New York City. You can head to North Shire’s website to get started on your booking now.
