When it’s time to vape, you don’t want to have to wait, do you? And when you are vaping, the worst is when it’s not quite hitting right. What is the reason for poor performance?
A clean vape pen is a happy vape. If you do not regularly maintain and clean your vape, you will notice the effects (or lack thereof). You must be now wondering how to clean a vape, right?
In our guide below, we teach you just that. Read on to learn how to have the best vape session possible.
Let’s first start by cleaning our vape tank. You’ll want to take the coil out and as you do make a mental model for when you have to put everything back together. Set aside each piece in a small bowl off to the side.
Rinse each part of the tank under running water and placing them on a dry paper towel, air-drying them. If it’s been a while since you’ve cleaned your vape tank, place the bowl with water and pop it in the microwave for 2 minutes. After giving them a gentle rinse, pop them in the bowl for a more thorough job.
For an even deeper clean, try filling your bowl with propylene glycol and having the pieces sit there for an hour or 2.
Vape coils will burn out over time and need to be replaced. To tell if you need to, run your coil under tap water for a minute or 2.
If you notice any improvements from the discoloration, you can proceed with a cleanse. If the wick remains dark and looks burned out, you’ll need to pick up some vape replacement coils.
To begin the cleaning process on a vape coil, run them under hot tap water for a few minutes. This will rid them of residue before you use rubbing alcohol or vodka. For a richer clean, fill a bowl with enough rubbing alcohol to cover your vape coil.
Cover the bowl with a towel and leave them overnight for a proper soak. You will notice discoloration in the bowl the next morning. To remove any residue, run them under hot water and rinse them off with distilled water.
Blow-dry the vape coil on low to medium heat until 100% dry. By now you’re getting the hang of how to clean a vape, aren’t you?
For a vape pen with a detachable vape tank, refer to our breakdown above. For the battery itself, you do not want to have it get wet. Use a soft cloth and wipe it daily.
If you have a vape pen that is one unit, a q-tip will do the trick! Get your propylene glycol or distilled water. Proceed by wiping the inside of the tank to remove the excess gunk.
